It Has Been Too Long!

November 10, 2008

I cannot believe that it has been so long since I last contributed to this site. I wrote in my last Editor's Corner in January that I was not feeling well and would be unable to maintain the site as well as I would have liked. And little did I know that it would take almost a year to get back to it. I would like to proudly announce that I gave birth to my first child on August 6th. It was the morning sickness that caused me to stop working on the site. I was terribly sick for the first 4 months. Now that my little girl is 3 months old and I am feeling up to it I will try to pick up where I left off by providing uplifting and inspirational news, stories, books and more for you to enjoy.

With Great Happiness,
Janine

David & Adam Are Going For A Ride

March 11, 2008

TEAM IN TRAINING The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

We have teamed up to ride in a 100 Mile Bike Ride for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. We are determined to train and go the distance to the finish line in March 2008

David my older brother has been riding for a while and I am new to the sport. Trust me the spandex outfits took some time getting used to. I had promised Elle that I was going to do this for her a while ago and now it is becoming a reality. Help make this come true for us.

Our mission is to “cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families”. Since 1988, more than 275,000 volunteer participants have helped raise more than $600 million.

We decided to join the team because we have both had close family members and friends who have had cancer, or are currently fighting it. Riding with Team In Training is our way of giving support to our loved ones and helping to make a contribution towards finding a cure!

Any donation, no matter how small is a great step towards finding a cure. Seventy-five cents of every dollar donated goes to supporting cancer research, education, advocacy and patient services.

Donations can be made easily at my website
